The Spawn

Sophisticated · Jan 6, 2013 · 7 Comments

The holidays is a time for people to remember good times, family and friends. It’s also a time to remember mga inaanak. I’ve been soo busy lately, kaya dehins ako nakapagprepare ng mga gifts for them… pero promise D, I’ll be sending one for Baby A soooooon…

Between C and I, we have maybe about 10 inaanaks already. Saya diba? I’d like to think it’s because the parents actually think we’re good examples for their little darlings, coz I seriously doubt na dahil iniisip nila na madami kami mag-regalo or something — soooo not the case.

We don’t want kids. There, I said it. That is, we don’t want any of our own.

Don’t get me wrong, I think babies, kids are a wonderful treat, just as long as they’re not mine. I think D still hasn’t given up hope on us, thinking that someday I’ll change my mind about it.

C and I always joke around when people ask us why. We say na baka maging “spawn of satan” ang kung ano mang iluwalal ko. Scary. Again, this is a joke!

Seriously though, I just don’t have the “i-want-to-be-a-mom” gene. Yes, I know some people think it’s sad, and some don’t think I’ll stick with this forever, but I am set on it. Broke my mom’s heart when she realized I was serious talaga (which was mga 4 months ago), she cried and everything…then we got Suri and now she’s a happy lola.

I do know of quite a few couples who decided not to have kids too. Take note, they decided, not forced not to have kids.  But even those couples are living happy, fulfilling lives.

For those who remain to be skeptical, I do have a master plan. Our home won’t be free from little monsters and rugrats if that’s what you’re thinking. C and I plan to be the awesomest ninong and ninang ever! Kami ang pwedeng pag-tapunan ng kiddies pag kailangan ng R&R and QT nila mom and dad nila, and kami ang #1 konsintidor.

C’mon, wouldn’t you rather have some adult supervising your most precious when they are off to do stupid things? This way, when they do want to “explore” C & I will be there to keep them out of trouble, or get them out of trouble, and hopefully not get grounded for the rest of their lives. I even plan to have little soirees for my inaanaks every other month or so, only when they’re old enough to party of course — so that would be like around 12 years old right?

LOL the second photo was how I saw kids before I had my onwn! I also used to call my-future-non-existent child (then!) satan’s spawn. I saw bratty kids as horrid little monsters. Now, either misunderstood or kulang lang sa limits. Motherhood changes everything! You’ll find out when it’s your turn. 🙂

Eeeeep! HappyMommy, wag ka naman ganyan! But I am happy for all happy mommies out there! NOTHING COMPARES to what moms do… I am totally and completely in awe of my mom — despite her craziness (S & P will attest). But i really have no idea, i cannot fathom how moms do it. Cheers!
