TBT: Leyte

I can’t help crying whenever I see these photos. We went there in October. Last time na pala namin makikita ang Leyte na kilala ko simula ng kabataan ko. I wish I could have taken more photos. 🙁  But Leyte will recover for sure.

 

I am thankful that my family and relatives in Leyte are okay. And I really hope to see them soon. 🙂

Some of my dad and mom’s friends did not make it 🙁 We pray for their souls and their loved ones.

We and Little Luee’s Locker donated these pajamas, play clothes and blankets. I know some will say, “ang konti” or “yan lang?” Please do not underestimate each donation. Bawat bigay mo makakatulong. Let’s just pray na umabot sa kanila 🙂 Sabi nga naman ni Korina, hindi totoo ang sinasabi ni Anderson Cooper…. nakakangitngit lang!

I haven’t made a big donation yet to the victims. Don’t judge me. I am saving our funds to help out my relatives, angel’s relatives, and other victims to start again. They need shelter. They need hope… Especially the children. You, too, can be a messenger of hope. 

 

From the 1000 Bear Hugs Project:

 

#1000Bearhugs project is a toy drive campaign to bring huggable bears and plushies to children in the evacuation centers of Tacloban and Bohol.

 

Play is a child’s natural language and a means for them to make sense of their experiences. Trauma can be addressed through the experiential narratives of play therapy and allows a child to speak of what he or she has gone through when they cannot find the words to do so. These toys provide children with a certain amount of security in a sometimes scary world.

 

To facilitate efficient toy distribution, we will not be accepting soiled or damaged toys, hard toys, battery-operated toys, or anything mechanical or weapon-like. The new and clean pre-loved toys you donate will be used for the children’s psychosocial needs and trauma debriefing.

 

We will be collecting stuffed toys from November 9-December 8 for a Christmas delivery for the children. We also hope you find the time to help other immediate #reliefPH efforts as well, such as providing food, water, clothing, and medicines to those who need it most. Thank you for supporting the #1000bearhugs initiative!

 

May you be moved to send love this Christmas love by filling the arms of the children of Tacloban and Bohol with hugs to help them heal.
