I got invited by my girl W to a private opening of A’Toda Madre… a new bar specializing on serving tequila and other tequila based cocktails. As a friend of mine said after learning of such an establishment “Tequila… dangerous.” O yeah…
W and her partner Y were hired to work on the branding and marketing. Y designed the super awesome logo:
The private opening I went to is part of a series of nights building up to the soft opening… specifically strategized by W. All I can say is it seems to be working… our little nook in Makati is slowly catching the tequila bug…
The first drink I had was called a Hot Mama… tequila, with different kinds of spices, Gran Marinier, agave juice and something else that i forget (blame the tequila). And spicy that drink was.. keeps you up and buzzed just right and enough to get me all chatty with the other guests.
Next, because W said I simply must have it, was the Margarita… and it was a good thing I was tipsy enough to listen and jump in. That Margarita was superb! Just the right amount of sweetness and kick. I immediately started telling all the new comers to have it…and I guess judging from my super happy disposition, they all obliged and thanked me for the reco.
There was a lot of kwentuhan and the place was big enough to have space for a bit of dancing and yet cozy enough that you feel at ease just meeting new friends. Of course the Tequila Master was there working the room and making sure everyone was enjoying properly.
The shelves were laden with all sorts of brands and kinds of tequila.
And the food, though I didn’t get to sample any except for the chicharon dish, are all reasonably priced.
It was an educational and interesting night to say the least.
Stand by for the soft opening announcement! Tan-tada-dan-dan… TEQUILA!!
