At my age, I am proud to share that I have zero cavities. That means no pasta, no tooth filling, and no false teeth. Batang Colgate ‘to! That’s why I am so happy to be part of Colgate’s campaign to aim for zero cavities.
Studies show that 9 out of 10 Filipino kids suffer from cavities. Poor oral hygiene can lead to a lot of problems affecting the gums, teeth and mouth. Many of these problems experienced by so many Filipinos can be avoided by increasing oral care awareness across the country.
As the leader in oral care, Colgate is determined to promote oral health awareness in the country. Last February 16, 2014, Colgate, in partnership with Philippine Dental Association (PDA) and Watsons, celebrated Oral Health Month at the SM Mall of Asia.
Watson’s Trading Controller Ms. May Abarquez, Colgate-Palmolive Philippines’ General Manager Mr. Antonio Caro and PDA’s President, Dr. Andy Fernandez.
To increase oral care awareness, Colgate had several booths during the event where we got to learn about proper oral hygiene. Each booth focused on a particular oral care problem and the Colgate product which can address it. Here’s our checklist:
First stop, of course, is a visit to the dentist.
Oral Health Month is a month-long celebration, where Colgate and PDA visit barangays nationwide to help these isolated and far-flung communities gain access to dental check-ups.
Next is the puppet show for Colgate kiddos!
Dr. Brushwell and Dr. Rabbit – The Tooth Defenders
Intense ang panonood ni Baby A!
Dr. Rabbit and the Tooth Defenders reminded kids to brush their teeth three times a day.
Then we went to the Colgate Plax booth. We were given three Plax Atomic Rings which we should use to capture unwanted plaque monsters. We got all three , yay!!!
Colgate Plax kills bacteria up to 99.99%, helps prevent cavities and gives long lasting fresh breath. Plus, it’s alocohol-free!
The next booth is all about Colgate’s Slim Soft Charcoal. Those who purchased a Slim Soft Charcoal Toothbrush can have his/her toothbrush personalized. Colgate offered name engraving services free of charge. Wala ng agawan ng toothbrush sa bahay!
Product Features: <0.01mm slim tip with Charcoal bristles, bristles clean deep in between teeth, bristles cleans along the gum line
The ultra soft 0.01mm slip tip with charcoal bristles helps remove bacteria compared to the ordinary round-end bristles. It cleans in between tight spaces and gently cleans along the gum line. The toothbrush’s compact head also cleans thoroughly in every corner of your mouth.
Then, there was this interactive game which a lot of kids enjoyed… Pinilahan talaga!
Mechanics: Brush the cavities away with the toothbrush. The more cavities you kill, the higher your score is!
Catch cavities before they start. Brush your teeth with Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection.
Next stop is the Colgate Total Booth. Though we may not be aware of it, studies show that bacteria build up in our mouths even right after brushing. We got to see this first hand through a room with black lighting.
With Colgate Total, you can get 12-hour anti-bacterial protection for superior oral health.
Last stop is the Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Booth.
Visitors were asked to chew an ice cube to check if they have sensitive teeth. If you have sensitive teeth, you can use Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief. Upon first application, visitors with sensitive teeth already experienced immediate relief.
Actress and Model Solenn Heussaff graced the event, and read stories to the kids about Dr. Rabbit and the Tooth Defenders.
Remember to teach your kids why oral health care is important – Solenn
All in all, it was a fun and successful event. Thank you for having us Colgate, and keep helping Filipino kids smile brighter and healthier.
