When I was a sophomore undergrad student I made friends with an energetic, crazy young man, J. He was one of those clean looking, very put together kind of men….although he used to speak wildly inappropriately to me — maybe because to him I was always just one of the boys and I can always just call him out on his BS. We had tons of fun together, getting into all sorts of shennanigans. He was also making out with some girl at almost every possible parking lot in campus…and elsewhere.
When he was a senior and I was a junior, he gave me a call one weekend morning:
J: Something happened to me last night…
S: Dude! You ok?!!!
J: Yeah, fine… just something different and I wanted to talk to someone.
J: …I kissed a guy
S: … Oh.
J: I don’t know… i don’t know…
S: It’s fine J… don’t panic. I love you.
You don’t have to worry about anything. Just be calm.
J: Love you too… thanks S…
S: You wanna talk more later? You can come by.
I think mom is preparing something for merienda.
We’ve been friends now for approximately 15 years now. He’s based in the States, and got married to his husband just last month. He’s happy, successful and still talks wildly inappropriately to me and I still call him out on his BS… it’s just that nowadays when we chat I get to call him “Bakla” and he calls me “Bakla” right back.
Love you J! Always and forever!
