Back in the first day of college, I easily noticed this young, beautiful lady seated in front of the room. With her perfect posture, neatly combed hair, and radiant smile, she moved with such grace and poise that exemplified how a lady should be. As she introduced herself in class, she spoke with confidence, drawing everyone’s attention inside the room without much effort. Clearly, I was intimidated, and I avoided her. It wasn’t because I didn’t like her, but because I was somehow afraid of the package that was ‘her.’ Kilala niyo naman na ako siguro! I’m the exact opposite! 🙂
After a few days and my eventual growth of self-esteem and confidence, I came to know her as Em Aglipay. Despite my initial apprehensions, this young lady turned out to be very approachable, down-to-earth, and actually sees goodness in every person she meets, a wonderful trait we all should be able to master. Through the years, she inspired me to strive for excellence, to lead by service, and to rise from life’s challenges. She indeed had the makings of an excellent role model.
Several years of friendship thereafter, I was very privileged to witness Em and Mark’s (the lucky groom) wedding – a wonderful celebration of a milestone as a couple in love and life. On October 1, 2014, this beautiful couple Em Aglipay and Mark Villar married the man and woman of their dreams, and said their vows before the world to seal their lifelong commitment to each other.

Em and Mark, we wish you all the best and blessings life has to give, and all the love that love itself can offer. Marriage is truly a never-ending journey, and we, your family and friends, are behind you as you enjoy the ride 🙂
The guest list was brief. The festivities were not. The church was small, the celebration wasn’t. For a short period of time, they weren’t members of congress, just two people so in love, thankful to have each other. (Oct 1, St. Theresa’s Church, Singapore) #marklovesem
