Appetizing Alqueria

Last week, we were so excited to receive an invite from Chuckie and Yen Dreyfus to have dinner at Alqueria Tapas, Paellas y Bistecas. Alam mo naman kaming mga soshal climbers, hobby namin mag-hangout with the celebrities. Ganun tayo e. 😛

Ang problema, di namin alam pronunciation ng Alqueria

D:     Paano ba pronounce yun? Alkerya? 

P:     Ano ka ba! It’s pronounced as Alkyrie… Parang Valkyrie lang 😛

Yen:  Hahaha, it’s pronounced… alke-ri-ya.

Sorry naman 😛

“Alqueria” is an old Spanish term which refers to a type of farmhouse that resembles a small castle and once served as home to many rural families in Spain. But don’t expect to see a farmhouse in SM Mega Fashion Hall. With its relaxed and intimate atmosphere, it’s a perfect dining spot to cap off the evening. Pero pag makita niyo kami sa Alqueria, lumayo kayo ng table. Medyo ingay kasi kami 😜

Alqueria Tapas, Paellas y Bistecas is part of the SumoSam Group founded by our friends (kahit kami lang nakakaalam) Marvin Agustin, Ricky Laudico and  Raymund Magdaluyo, who partnered with our amigas (kami pa rin lang ang nakakaalam) Charo Santos, Liz Uy, Mylene Dizon and Agot Isidro.

Diners should sample Alqueria’s  prime selection of tapas, paellas and bistecas.

Gambas Al Ajillo (Php375)

Fresh white river shrimps sauteed in olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes and paprika finished with white wine and butter.

Pollo Iberico (Php395)

Slow roasted chicken leg quarter with chorizo, sweet peppers in olive oil and white wine.

Vientre Extra (Php905)

Pork belly slow roasted for 4 hours to achieve perfect skin crispiness and fork tender meat topped with our version of gremolata served with a side of fresh greens.

Prime Ribs Solo (Php1,499)

Fisherman’s Paella (Php885)

Choice of wild or short grain rice cooked in saffron-infused stock and pomodoro topped with shrimps, mussels, squid and fish of the day.

Oh, and don’t forget to order desserts! May “s” kasi you have to try all of these…

Canonigo (Php218)

A Filipino version of the French dessert “ile flottante or oeufs a la neige, baked meringue with caramel and candied bananas.

A classic Spanish dessert made with custard and caramel sauce.

What makes Spanish cuisine so popular is the richness of taste and quality of the ingredients used. There has always been something deep and vibrant in Spanish flavors and that’s what Alqueria wants us to experience. Tumangos ilong namin sa sarap! Muy bien, Alqueria! Makabalik nga at baka may chance pa maging tisay kami like our Spanish friends…or at least matuto ng Español… Muchos gracias! 😛
