Dami na raw must-try restaurants sa Quezon City. At kahit gusto ko sana suyurin lahat sila, for someone na taga-Southern Tagalog region, medyo mahirap. Luckily, I got the chance to discover THE FRAZZLED COOK. It’s a restaurant that serves international cuisines in a quirky home-cook style. Ternong terno sa lugar that looks and feels just like home (Pero di namin home ha. Home ng mayaman. :P) Perfect date/family gathering/barkada get-together place.
Starters pa lang, solb ka na. We had the SIZZLING SQUID (P495)
Marinated squid comes with cured mangoes and drizzled vinaigrette
Couldn’t really taste the mangoes or the vinaigrette individually but the sauce was something else. Ito ang classic example ng sarsa pa lang, ulam na.
We also had the PIZZA CAPRESE (P295)
Herbed crusted thin pizza dough with freshly grilled tomatoes and kesong puti.
The WAGYU SAPLICAO (P595)
Beef cubes sautéed with sliced garlic and mushrooms
And the PAELLA NEGRA
But the dishes I really enjoyed, at worthy dayuhin ko ulit sa QC, are the SALMON PIZZA (P380)
Herbed crusted thin pizza dough topped with salmon salpicao, onions and kesong puti.
The GRILLED BBQ SHORTRIBS (P465)
Slowly cooked goodness off the grill
At ang STAR OF THE NOCHE BUENA FEAST for me – the TRUFFLE PASTA (P295)
Mixed pasta with sautéed Portobello mushroom and home-made white truffle sauce
Hindi sophisticated ang panlasa ko (Provinciated nga eh). Hindi ko alam ang mga truffle at Portobello mushrooms na ‘yan. Pati spelling ng vinaigrette ginoogle ko pa. But if there’s one thing I look for in a dish is for it to be flavorful. In short, malasa. ‘Yun din kasi ang kinalakihan ko sa bahay. And I think the dishes I especially mentioned at THE FRAZZLED COOK truly taste home-cooked and comforting.
