Dahil nga nagpapaka Tita na ako (and proudly so) medyo hindi na ako pumupunta sa mga clubs… riiiiight.
Honestly though, I much prefer mga chillax na gimik na lang. I haven’t completely put away the party dresses, but I don’t put those on as often as before.
And I love living in Salcedo, Makati, and being able to walk to everywhere I want to go.
Kaya perfect ang Roof Deck for me and CJ. It takes me all of 10 minutes to walk there. I go there to enjoy the urban landscape views, the sunset and the music, and the drinks. Most importantly, I can enjoy all that in my tsinelas or my heels, depending on my mood. It doesn’t matter how you look —- Or maybe I just don’t care enough in my old age.

The crowd is always an eclectic mix. And there is so much energy to draw from both the locals and foreign tansients who are staying in the city.
It’s nothing fancy. It’s all about fun. They have cocktails named after break ups and Pinoy cuss words. Everything is either served in a bottle or little transparent plastic cups. They serve rice with adobo flakes, and even fried tofu on skewers.

Masayang makipag friends, kasi it doesn’t give that sleezy bar/club kind of vibe. It’s a cute little roof deck space under the sky. There are barely enough seats for 50 people. Mas lalong masaya with your “squad” dahil anything goes and you can be as goofy as you want to be, or as immersed in conversation as your liquor will take you.
When you come to visit Roof Deck, located at the roof of Z Hostel, make sure to get your RFID first at the lobby… another ingenious concept because you can load money in this tiny plastic chip which you use to purchase stuff with the bar tender. Good if you’re trying to keep yourself within a budget, and also because you can keep coming back to use up the rest of your credits within 90 days from loading the pesos.
Make sure that if you want to explore Roof Deck you do it soon and before the rainy season though. I don’t think ganun akong ka-chillax na sasayaw ako sa ulan.
For those who care — Wednesday is hiphop night, and Thursday is house.
Kitakits!
