The event was FLAUNT IT: The White Trunk Show, sponsored by Nestle Non-Fat Milk, Preview and Cosmo. I have never been to a matinee trunk show… but I guess the glaring Makati sun just added to the brilliance of all the beautiful people in white.
The who’s who of Manila fashion were there. EICs of both Cosmo and Preview welcomed everyone, along with Nestle’s CEO.
Nestle Philippines CEO Mr. John Martin Miller
Cosmo’s EIC Myrza Sison
Preview Magazine EIC Pauline Suaco-Juan
(The creative minds behind the show: fashion designers, Vania Romoff, Kristel Yulo, Jot Lasa and Cherry Veric take the stage)
(Welcome hors d’oeuvres was a spread of all the good things
that go with non-fat milk… I think)
(My booty bag from the show!)
They coined the event as a celebration of fashion and nutrition. Yes, fit, healthy, beautiful and sexy people drink milk. It was just kind of ironic that I was the one going to this event since I’m pseudo lactose intolerant (intolerance resulting from being force fed milk everyday when I was growing up by my mom). But what the hey… I’m thirty-two and I got to start thinking about what’s best for Number 1. And being healthy does show on the outside ladies. The stress, the late nights out, the partying, smoking and drinking will get to us at some point. It’ll show.
It’s not all about losing weight and getting skinny. You can do that by not eating and taking a bunch of weight loss pills. I’m talking about being healthy. It’s a challenge especially for people like me who push it to the limit, whether it’s work, recreation or partying. But like I said, I ain’t 21 anymore, and I can feel all my shenanigans taking its toll on my body. So I figured, if I still want to be partying ‘til I’m 60, I have to make sure I’m strong enough and healthy enough to enjoy it.
Thank you Nestle Non-Fat for the invite… and the inspiration.
