Meron akong masamang habit na kumain after inuman. I say it’s bad because health-wise hindi talga recommended that you eat super late at night. But food just tastes sooooo good after midnight after a few or a lot of drinks. Pagkain ang gamot sa amats.
I have a few favorite go-to places for after-hours after-drinks dining experience, all of which are open 24-hours in Makati:
1. McDonald’s DRIVE THRU @ Makati Cinema Square.
C’mon, you know you want it. The greasy burgers, crunchy fries, coke float or a chocolate Sundae. I do McDo drive thru usually when I’m heading home alone from a late night out. It’s conveniently 2 shakes away from our condo, quick and satisfying.
2. Hap Chan @ Neptune Street
Dito masaya naman pag may kasama, pang family style ang dating. Yes, open sya 24-hours. I recommend the hot and sour soup, full of MSG goodness, and the radish cake. Mahirap lang maghatak ng tao to go with me though… madalas nga kasi ako lang sumisigaw ng “HAP CHAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!” at 3 in the morning sa loob ng awto while all my friends all just wanna head home.
3. Peace and Happiness @ Makati Executive Tower, Buendia.
It’s a GI (*Genuine Intsik – pardon the political incorrectness, sorry D!) dim sum kitchen. It’s kind of a hole-in-the-wall carenderia. You know it’s good when you see Chinese mainlanders crowding inside. Xiao long bao heaven! You can even take out frozen dim sum and just steam it at home. (walang photo kasi nga medyo secret sya…)
4. Army Navy @ Jupiter.
All-day breakfast burrito, steak quesadilla and their super champion na iced tea — or you can also have another beer just to cap the night off.
5. And the Pièce de résistance — Andok’s @ Chino Roces Ave.
Eto na talaga ang pinnacle ng lahat ng pang himasmas. Rice, liempo, lechon manok, and saba con hielo… at 3 am in the morning, makakalimutan mo na na kailangan mo nang matulog.
So if you ever find yourself in need of a food run after gimik hours, you may want to check out the places I mentioned above… you never know, baka magkasabay pa tayo.
