“PAKTOR” is hokien for “dating” or “go out on a date”. And yep, it’s a dating app. Available for both android and iOS, this nifty application originally hails from Singapore.
At the blogger’s hangout held at the “Commune” along HV Dela Costa, Paktor executives gave a quick run-through of how to get the best out of the dating site.
When I downloaded it I was a little concerned when the only way to create an account was to log on using my Facebook account. But after being assured by the Paktor team that it wont even register on my FB account that I’ve registered with Paktor and that none of my Paktor activities will be posted, I was pretty impressed about their security features. Because, c’mon, you have to admit, it’s pretty weird to let all your friends know you’re searching for a hook up online..
The app is pretty simple to use. Soon as you load it, it identifies all other Paktor users near your area. Swipe left if it’s a no, swipe right if you’re hoping to meet up. You get a notification when you get a match, then that’s the only time you can get to chat.
It was a fun hangout, with everyone trying out the app and trying to find someone to match with. I did try to check out other dating apps, and i would have to say that Paktor has impressive security features, and the easiest to use.

Should you find yourself wanting to explore your possibilities within a kilometer radius, try to Paktor yourself.
A cool new way to meet friends nearby!
