As a full-time working Mom, I don’t get to spend a lot of time with Addie on weekdays. To make up for the missed quality time, I make sure that I spend the whole, or most, of my Saturdays and Sundays bonding with her.
Last Saturday, Breeze launched the Sige Sabado Movement at the Arts in the City, Bonifacio Global City. The movement aims to encourage moms to dedicate their Saturdays to their kids. Sige Sabado hopes to encourage moms to spend their Saturdays creating lasting memories with their children by doing fun bonding activities together.
Breeze had two activities for the moms and their kids.
First, there was painting…
Addie’s abstract painting ;-P
And second, there was cupcake decorating.
Siyempre, nadumihan agad si Addie but we learned from Breeze that moms shouldn’t be afraid of their kids getting stains. Since Breeze strongly believes that life’s lessons are best learned through experience, the brand strongly encourages moms to adopt the Sige sa Mantsa philosophy which is all about allowing their kids to be kids and explore and learn positive values even at the expense of kids getting dirty and their clothes being stained.
“Kids learn best when they’re having fun with their moms,” Unilever Home Care Marketing Director Mr. Jay Go said during the Sige Sabado Movement launch. “Through the Sige Sabado Movement, we hope to cultivate a stronger, more loving relationship between moms and their kids. After all, no matter how busy life gets, we should always make time for the ones who matter most. If this also leads to stains, it’s okay. Dirts and stains are temporary, memories and lessons are permanent. Sige sa mantsa! Sige sa learning!”
During the event, Breeze introduced to us the Circle of Sige Moms, a group of empowered moms united in their commitment to take charge of their kids’ learning and memories.
The Sige Moms, Nikki Valdez, Barbie Almalbis-Honasan, Carmina Villaroel- Legaspi, Christine Bersola-Babao, Gladys Reyes and Dimples Romana.
Each of the celebrity moms promised to be a Sige Mom, committed to make every Saturday a Sige Sabado day and to celebrate moments of discovery and the chaos in creativity.
Let kids be kids and worry less about the mess.
Bonding time doesn’t have to be about going to the mall, shopping or playing in arcades, nor does it entail or necessitate parents spending a lot of money. With the right amount of imagination and creativity, you can easily bond with your kids even just at home and do fun, simple and meaningful activities together.
Breeze gave out Sige Sabado Playboxes during the event. Through the playbox, Breeze aims to help moms by providing them with weekly fun activities. Addie and I love the Sige Sabado Playbox.
The playbox is filled with various artwork materials that came with instructions for making pieces such as harlequin masks, dinosaur egg bath soaps, choco art, animal balloon paper mache, popsicle stick pen holder, and DIY slime.
Look at what’s inside.

Addie was curious about the harlequin mask, so we tried that first right after the event.
We started by gluing sequins around one eye.
Afterwards, Addie wanted to paint it right away!
She chose the colors to put on different parts of the mask, while I helped her with the pattern.
Ang saya!!!
Panay punas ni Addie ng paint sa shirt niya. Pero sabi nga ng Breeze, sige lang sa mansta, sige lang sa learning. Breeze’s strong stain removal power will handle the rest. 🙂

Kudos to you Mommy! I know how it feels. It’s kind of frustrating that we can’t dedicate most of our weekdays to our kids. In as much as we wanted to, we can only give them our weekends. Let’s power up and make the most of our weekend bondings.. Thank you for sharing.
Here’s a thought for all super Mommies out there…..
THE BEST THING TO SPEND ON YOUR CHILDREN IS TIME. And yes, quality time is very important to parenthood but it’s just next to QUANTITY.. Happy Mommying…:-)
