I love good food. Sino ba namang hindi? Ang pilosopiya ko sa pagkain, kung di rin lang masarap, wag na lang. Sayang ang space sa tiyan ko. May sense naman diba?
Well, when I was invited to try the offerings at TIPPLE & SLAW a few weeks ago, naku, sabihin na lang nating walang nasayang na space sa tiyan ko. Sa katunayan, walang natirang space at all!
Tipple & Slaw already has a following with the “gimik” crowd. Gimik pa rin ba ang tawag ngayon? Obvious na tanders na kami. 😛
But other than the wide array of cocktails and drinks, Tipple & Slaw also offers an impressive menu. At pag sinabi kong impressive, impressive talaga!
Most of the dishes at Tipple & Slaw are very familiar American comfort food BUT either cooked or presented with a twist! Here are some of them…
CHICKEN NUGGETS made of fresh chicken (‘yung totoo at alam mong chicken talaga ha!) with 3 sauces on the side – ketchup, honey mustard and their to-die-for barbecue sauce (P250)
UMAMI FRIES
Twice cooked fries with Japanese dressing and truffle oil, topped with Nori Sesame, Togarashi and Katsuobushi. (P280)
Ops, alam ko tatanungin niyo ako kung ano ‘yung last 2 ingredients. Eto na, Togarashi is Japanese chili peppers while Katsuobushi is Japanese for dried, fermented, and smoked fish usually served in flakes. Salamat, google! Bottomline, masarap siya! 😉
MAC & CHEESE
Ay, suuuuper creamy and cheesy plus it had a bit of spiciness to it kaya winner. (P150)
PORCHETTA SANDWICH
Roasted, chopped pork belly with stuffed herbs and pickled red onions in between sourdough white bread and topped with salsa verde. (P380)
CHORIZO, GORGONZOLA, FENNEL PASTA
Idedescribe ko pa ba? ‘Yun na ‘yun eh! Kailangan mo na lang masubukan. 😉 (P380)
At, katulad ng lahat ng food and restaurant entries ko, hindi mawawala ang STAR OF THE NOCHE BUENA FEAST! At Tipple & Slaw, that would have to be their FRIED CHICKEN WITH CREAM CHEESY GRAVY AND CAVIAR!!! (P295)
Nth time ko na kumain ng fried chicken pero first time ko nakakain ng caviar. May nagtanong nga sa akin kung ano lasa. Ang sagot ko, “maliliit na maaalat na sago na pumuputok putok pag kinakagat.” Ganun pala ‘yun! It added a very unique, tasty texture to the fried chicken. Award!
All these dishes will go perfectly with a cold glass of the Orange Julius, Strawberry Iced Tea or the Arnold Palmer Iced Tea.
Then finish off with the SMORES OVERLOAD! (P250)
Familiar but different, yummy, reasonably priced and #CertifiedSoshal! That’s how I would describe Tipple & Slaw. Chef Francis Lim and the other owners really proved that there’s not only #seriousdrinking at Tipple & Slaw, but also #seriousbiting.
With Chef Francis Lim, Richard of www.talesfromthetummy.com and his wife, Irene 🙂
